Classic Car Show
Our annual Classic Car Show takes place in early July on the beautiful Bailey Lawn at Tonbridge Castle, bringing together classic vehicles, live music and visitors from across the region. This year’s show was a great success, with 87 cars on display and large crowds enjoying the event throughout the day. Exhibitors travelled from as far afield as Buckinghamshire and Suffolk to bring their cars to Tonbridge, where they were rewarded with fine weather, good music and a wonderful atmosphere.
The main charity for the event was Shelter Box, which provides emergency shelter and practical tools for families who have lost their homes in disasters. One of their tents was on display and attracted a great deal of interest, and the charity will benefit both from a donation from the show and from the wider awareness raised on the day.
A Morris 8 greeted visitors at the entrance, offering a taste of the older classics waiting inside, alongside more modern classics and supercars. Musical entertainment was organised by The Music Station under licence from the Performing Rights Society, and the crowds enjoyed performances from a wide selection of local bands. Every song played helped to reward the artists behind the music..
Overall, this year’s Classic Car Show was a memorable day for Tonbridge, combining a wonderful display of vehicles with live music, community spirit and support for an important cause. Our thanks go to everyone who exhibited, performed, volunteered or came along to enjoy the day and help make the event such a success.
