SERVICE ABOVE SELF
Tonbridge Rotary was founded in 1924 and has been serving the local community for over 100 years. We work directly with local youth and community groups and raise money to support both local and international charities and good causes
Ours is a friendly club of approximately 30 members. We meet at 6.30 for 7:00pm on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at Poult Wood Golf Club, Tonbridge. There is also an opportunity to meet for an informal social lunch once a month.
The club is part of Rotary International, the world’s largest service organisation. We are also part of Rotary Great Britain & Ireland (GB&I) and are in District 1120 which covers the south east of England and, interestingly, Gibraltar. Like all Rotary clubs, we are non‑political, non‑religious, and open to everyone who wants to contribute to their community.
Our major fundraising events of the year are
the Tonbridge Half Marathon, staged jointly with Tonbridge Lions Club
the Rotary Charity Golf Day
the Tonbridge Rotary Christmas Festival, which is run on behalf of Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council for the benefit of the local community.
We also support many local community groups and events. Our Community Service projects include the Kids Out theme park adventure, careers advice at local schools, the Judd Greenpower project, senior citizens' theatre visits and the annual Country Drive & Cream Tea.
